This week's Yadkin Wines and Kitchen Magic episode pairs Applewood Bistro's dish,

Stromboli, with Shadow Springs' Meritag.

Chef Thua shows us how to prepare the meal, and Donna Marie, Alan Day and I try out the combination. A hearty meal with a matching wine.

Check the recipe if you feel like trying this at home, and let us know your experience in the comments section below.

Chef Thua Nguyen presents International Night every Thursday at Applewood and prepares dishes such as Pho, a noodle soup with beef or seafood and lots of steamed vegetables. Saturday evenings may find wild game on the menu: boar, antelope and elk. “He’s an outstanding chef,” says Alan Day, “who is highly skilled in utilizing food.” It’s the norm for Alan to advise diners on ordering to individualize and satisfy their level of spicy tolerance.
