This issue of the Wines of Yadkin Valley is addressed specifically to you - the owners and operators of the vineyards and wineries in the Yadkin Valley AVA. Our efforts to promote the local wines are gaining traction, and I invite you to become more active in this effort that eventually will benefit all the wine producers in this area. Please review what we are doing and help us to expand your influence.

The year 2009 seems to have escaped so quickly... even more so than previous years. OK, so there are still 2 months remaining, but I expect November and December to pass in a blink. That isn't to say that the year has been empty, and that nothing has been accomplished. On the contrary, the Wines of Yadkin Valley has been growing, and seems to be taking on a life of its own. We've added several new features that seem to have caught your attention, and have a few new projects in the planning stage.

We have had a significant increase in folks visiting our site, and when they do, they seem to like what they see, because they are sticking around and visiting a lot of pages in each visit. We've diversified our content and added two new contributors to our writing staff. The additional content seems to appeal to our readers, and we intend to continue to expand our offerings. If you'd like specifics about our web site traffic and how you can leverage it for your own benefit, just ask.

Jennifer Flaten conducts interviews with the wineries, and delivers timely updates about what's going on.

Elizabeth Sigmon covers the growing world of wine accessories, and fills us in on what items can make drinking and sharing wine even more enjoyable.

We've started our own video production, "Yadkin Wines and Kitchen Magic" where we have teamed with Applewood Bistro in Wilkesboro. We select wines and pair them with dishes. It's a great opportunity to see what wines go with which foods. To highlight the video, we've added a preview of all the shows to the top of the main page of the web site. You can see what episode is about by watching the previews as they change. When you click on one of them, you'll go to the page where you can view the entire video.

In coming months we will host interviews with wine experts, and invite you to participate in the live online events. And in the Spring of 2010, we are planning on hosting a blind wine tasting event in conjunction with the Shine to Wine festival in North Wilkesboro.

Overall we are pleased to be part of this growing region and active industry. Please pass us along to your friends who are interested in wines. They can sign up for our newsletter, or subscribe to our RSS feed, follow us on Twitter, or just visit the site.

And, if you have suggestions about what you would like to see us cover, please just say so.
